_INTRODUCTION

Do you believe in angels? Surely you once did, at least in distant childhood, when the world seemed full of magic, and kind creatures flying across the sky on their beautiful wings and looking after people so that nothing bad happened to them were part of it. Children grow up, there is less and less magic in life, and as adults, many no longer see angels as real beings from the other world, but perceive them only as metaphorical literary images personifying good principles. Others do not deny the existence of Heaven and its inhabitants, but believe that they exist in parallel with our world and do not affect us in any way, which means that we are not supposed to know about them. But that's not true.

     The relevance of the research topic lies in the fact that angels play a key role in the formation of an individual’s system of values and ideals, moral principles and ethical views, and the nature of relationships with oneself and the outside world.

Every person from childhood is instilled with moral principles - a set of rules that must be followed in order to be a good man. Religion gives us these rules, and in addition to them, it also gives us excellent role models worthy of emulating. These figures, along with the prophets, are angels - the standard of spiritual purity, nobility, true love, fidelity, strength and courage, an ideal that a person, alas, will never be able to achieve, but to which they can - and should! - constantly strive to get closer to and cultivate the best qualities in themselves. Through this image, positive values are transmitted in church, art, culture and pop culture: kindness, mercy, compassion for one’s neighbor, etc. This also implies the social significance of angels, because it is impossible to imagine a society that exists without morality! Belief in angels, after all, has a positive effect on the psyche. By acquiring the figure of a protector, a person feels constant emotional support and can more easily endure psychological trauma. After all, you must admit that in especially dark, lonely and scary moments, the belief that someone up there is looking after you gives you peace of mind, instills hope in your soul and lifts your spirit.

But angels are not necessarily just about spirituality. We come across figures, images, and symbols of angels all the time in our everyday lives. There are just countless examples of the appearance of angels in films (“It’s a Wonderful Life,” “Meet Joe Black,” “Good Omens,”),

songs ("Send Me An Angel" by Scorpions, "Hymn For The Weekend" by Coldplay) and even cartoons ("Angel’s friends", "Angel Baby"), not to mention art and cultural heritage (take, for example, the numerous sculptures of angels throughout St. Petersburg)! What about our habits and traditions? Falling on fresh snow and making “snow angels”, putting an “angel” on the top of a Christmas tree, giving each other cards with the image of Cupid - the mythical angel of love - on Valentine’s Day, affectionately calling a loved one “angel”, or a very good person, or both.

     Angels, these beautiful, pure, wondrous heavenly creatures are present on our screens, in our music players, in our culture, traditions, speech, and we don’t even notice them and know so little about them! So why don't we try to take a tiny step into their enchanted world and try to get to know them better? And it does not matter at all whether you are a believer or a convinced atheist, this experience promises to be interesting. After all, we have always loved immersing ourselves in the fictional universes of games, books and films, so what is stopping us from enjoying a journey into the world of angels?

The purpose of research is to understand what angels are as representatives of the spiritual world

      For this purpose the following tasks have been set:

• Using the Holy Scriptures, form a general understanding of angels in Christianity,

Islam and Judaism

• Explore the subtleties of the nature of angels

• Reveal the principles of the structure of the world of angels

• Raise the issue of free will among angels, examine two very different points of view

and find out the reason for the fall of the first Fallen

• Learn more about this type of angels, such as guardian angels, and their special bond

with humans

     The object of research are angels

     The subject of research is the essence, functions and role of angels in the heavenly and earthly worlds

     The hypothesis suggests that angels are unique and interesting creatures with a set of original qualities, a harmonious world with its own laws and orders, history and purpose. If God is a writer and the world is a book, then angels are beautifully written characters, definitely worthy of the readers!

     Research methods: analysis of literary sources; observation; comparison; abstraction; synthesis

1. The concept of an angel in world religions

The word “angel” itself is interpreted in exactly the same way in all religions. It is taken from the Greek “ἄγγελος” [angelos], which in turn is a direct translation of the Hebrew מלאך [mal’akh] - “messenger”. The Arabic word ملأك‎ malak - “messenger”, “messenger” - is borrowed from Hebrew. So the translation of this word is literally: one who conveys the Word of God. The science that studies angels is called angelology (from the Greek ἄγγελος - angel and λόγος - teaching). What do we know about angels: who or what are they? When did they appear? What is their purpose? Let us turn for answers to the main source of knowledge about everything spiritual – the Holy Scriptures.

1. 1. The view of Christianity

Angels are ministering spirits with supernatural powers. Unlike man, who was created as a physical being, angels do not have flesh (Hebrews 1:14), but they have a personality (based on the fact that they are mentioned by name in Scripture), a will (Luke 8:28-31; Timothy 2:26), emotions (Luke 2:13; James 2:19; Revelation 12:17), intellect (Matthew 8:29; 1 Peter 1:12). They are very powerful (Psalm 103:20), much more powerful than humans (2 Peter 2:11; Matthew 28:2), they use their power to combat dark forces (Revelation 12:7-8).

     World of angels. They live primarily in space where the laws of our universe do not apply, in the invisible, spiritual world - Heaven (1 Kings 8:27; John 6:38). They descend to Earth to fulfill God's instructions.

     Creation. The Bible does not give a specific answer regarding the time of the creation of angels, however, by examining some points in the book of Genesis, we can determine it ourselves.

    So Genesis says that God created everything out of nothing in six days, and angels are no exception, they also did not arise on their own, but according to the Word of God. It is known that angels were created before humans, for they were present at the creation of the Earth: “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell me, if you understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it? On what were its footings set, or who laid its cornerstone – while the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy?” (Job 38:4-7) We see that the “morning stars” (“the sons of God”), admiring His work, sang and praised Him; these stars are angels! Let’s go further, the inhabitants of the earth were created on the sixth day (Genesis 1:24-31), which means we look above: “And God created two great lights – the greater light to rule the day (the Sun), and the lesser light to rule the night (the Moon), and the stars" (Genesis 1:16) - this is the fourth day - the day of the creation of the heavens and all their inhabitants ("Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts." (Genesis 2: 1)). Therefore, God made angels on the fourth day of the creation of the world. However, this is just an assumption; we cannot know for sure, because again there is no clear answer in the Bible.

    Number of angels. There are many, many angels: we learn that when we come to Mount Zion, we find ourselves surrounded by “thousands upon thousands” of angels (Hebrews 12:22). John the Revelator says, “I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads” (Revelation 5:11). Since they are not subject to death or any form of extinction, their numbers do not decrease.

     Why did God create angels? It would seem that the answer is obvious - so that they serve him. Yes, indeed, the main purpose of angels is to fulfill the will of God and glorify Him, and yes, this is exactly what they do: constantly praise Him: “And one called to another and said:

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!” (Isaiah 6:30)

rejoice in His deeds (Job 38:6-7, 1:6; 2:1), worship Him (Hebrews 1:6; Revelation 5:8-13). Here are some of the tasks by which angels perform the service of the Lord:

- to convey the will of God to people, especially to God’s chosen ones, that is, the prophets. From New Testament Revelation, we know that an angel appears to a prophet in a dream, interpreting his visions, thereby helping to “translate” or “decipher” the Word (Zechariah 1:9). In addition, angels appear on Earth at great moments in history, such as announcing the birth of the Savior to the shepherds (Luke 2:9-14);

- to carry out God’s judgment (Revelation 7:1; 8:2);

- to protect the souls and bodies of people on all paths, comfort and guide them on the righteous path (Ps 90:10-11), listen to prayers and answer them (Acts 12:5-10);

- to be close to the righteous at the hour of death, support them, accompany their soul to a Better Place (Luke 16:22), etc.

As we can see, the angels there do not rest on the clouds, but work tirelessly, and almost all their duties, if you think about it, revolve around man. Does this mean that God created angels for the sake of humans? That He actually gave them to His most beloved creation? If you think this way, then a question arises: why would He need angels if He can interact with people directly, since He is Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient. He could easily cope with everything on His own and not get tired at all: "Have you not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not faint, nor is He weary?" (Isaiah 40:28), so why exactly does He need angels? Wait, what would He need us humans for then?.. The further you go in your thoughts, the more questions arise, confusion occurs, and everything begins to lose all meaning. Well, let's gradually untangle the threads, building on Christian ideology mixed with simple facts from the lives of ordinary people.

Let's start with the question: why do people get, well, hamsters, for example? Why would people - working people, studying people, family people, busy from morning to late at night, busy with everyday affairs, each other, thoughts, at least, drowning in routine and barely coping with their own lives - host a living creature that needs to be taken care of, fed, entertained, monitored for its comfort and health? Why are we able to spend hours on end choosing a tablecloth for the kitchen table or decorating the Christmas tree? Why do we sing, compose, draw? These things have absolutely no importance on a universal scale, so why do we do it, and why does it give us such pure happiness? It's simple. We are creatures of love, love is firmly embedded in each of us, it is the foundation, it is the principle, it is the engine. Someone can deny this love, suppress it, but it is what it is. It is not enough for us just to be, our own life is not enough, we boil with the desire to give something, and not only to consume. That's why we knit sweaters, plant gardens, have children, after all, it's all about our desire to create, bring beauty, give life, and gift it all our love. And if we are created in the image of God, then the answer to the question comes naturally: God doesn't need angels, He just lets them be, because He loves. Everything He does, He does out of love, everything He creates, He creates with love, because He is love. By the way, angels are not deprived of free will, nor are they deprived of the ability to think, so serving the Lord is their conscious choice, also made out of love. God loves the angels, and they love Him. That's it!

This was a brief overview of the angels of the Bible, we will return to it later, but for now we give the floor to the Quran.

1.2 The view of Islam

Belief in angels is one of the six pillars of Iman (faith Islam). The Holy Quran says: “True piety does not consist in turning your faces towards the east or the west - but truly pious is he who believes in God, and the Last Day; and the angels, and revelation, and the prophets" (2:177).

     The world of angels is a mysterious world parallel to us, which, however, comes into contact and interacts with ours, but in which the laws of physics known to us do not work. The inhabitants of this world - malaika (Arabic ملائك‎, singular malak مَلَكْ‎ - “messenger”) are immensely wise, incredibly powerful, beautiful in appearance, devoted servants of Allah (2:285). Angels cannot be seen, but you are supposed to believe in them: “None knows your Lord's forces but Him. This is nothing but a reminder to all human beings" (74:31). He who denies the existence of angels denies Allah himself. Angels belong, as it were, to the "high society”, since Allah chose them to worship Him and carry out His will, endowing them with knowledge and power that are many times greater than the abilities of humans and jinns (37:8). The main feature of angels in the Muslim faith is their absolute submission to God and inability to sin.

Creation. In the Holy Book of Muslims, as in the Bible, there is no specification about the time of the creation of angels. According to the Quran, God created the entire world in six days (7:54). First he creates Heaven and Earth; from the following verse, it can be assumed that the abode of angels arose earlier than our planet: “Are you a more difficult creation or is the heaven? Allah constructed it. He raised its ceiling and proportioned it. And He darkened its night and extracted its brightness. And after that He spread the earth. He extracted from it its water and its pasture. And the mountains He set firmly. As provision for you and your grazing livestock" (79:27-30). Then the seas, rivers, rain, the Sun and the Moon were created, and only then the angels. Allah wove their bodies with the element of light, but completely different from the one we encounter in earthly life - this pure light is divine and is called nura. From Surah “The Cow”, verse 30, we learn that Allah informed his angels about his intention to place a vicegerent on Earth, implying the progenitor of mankind, Adam: "Behold, thy Lord said to the angels: 'I will create a vicegerent on earth," and then ordered them to bow before him: “And when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My (created) soul, then fall down to him in prostration.” (Surah 15 Hijr, verse 29). So, angels appeared before people, and among all the creatures of God they predominate in number, since they say there is no place in Heaven where you will not see angels. Their exact number is known only to Allah (based on verse 31 of sura “al-Mudassir”, tafsir “al-Muntahab”).

Why did Allah create angels? So, God gave the angels the ability to carry out his commandments. Without exception, all processes of nature and the cosmos occur thanks to the work of angels. That is, nothing in the world happens on its own, from the movement of galaxies to the rotation of electrons around the nucleus - behind all this are angels working at the command of the Lord. A certain angel is responsible for certain processes, such as the movement of clouds, birth and death. Some bring thunder, some monitor the development of the embryo in the womb, some take notes, etc. The main functions of angels described in the Quran are approximately the same as in the Bible: in the same way, they are supposed to praise the Lord day and night: “But if they are arrogant - then those who are near your Lord (i.e., the angels) exalt Him by night and by day, and they do not become weary" (41:38), convey Revelation to the prophets (42:51), protect souls during their stay in the earthly world, and after death, having collected them, return them to the Lord (32:11). 

This is interesting: angels read salawat (praises, blessings) to the prophets every day and Pray for the righteous on Earth. They love God-fearing people, pray with them when they

sincerely worship Allah, beg Him to accept their repentance, forgive their sins and reward them with blessings. The hadith (saying of the prophet Muhammad) tells us not to ask God for anything but good for ourselves and others, for whatever we wish for, the angels will say “Ameen”. The Messenger of Allah (saw) said: "When a person says Ameen the angels also say Ameen and if his Ameen coincides with the Ameen of the angels his previous sins will be forgiven". What is surprising is that when a person is in a state of physical weakness due to illness or injury, for every day and every night the angel-scribes write down as many good deeds on their account as they usually when they are well, for which, undoubtedly, they will definitely be rewarded.

Angels are a true gift from Allah to humanity, through them He shows mercy and endless love for His creations. They do so much for our world and the Universe as a whole! Not that Allah needs them to manage all these processes. And yet, he wanted to create the world just like that - one where there is a place for man, an angel, and a jinn, and in every decision of Allah has there is wisdom. As Muslims like to say after expressing their opinion: “And Allah knows best.”

Additionally:

From the biblical period to the apocrypha and pseudopygrapha, from the Dead Sea Scrolls to the Talmud, from mystical Judaism and medieval rationalism to modern Judaism, angels were and remain a part of Jewish faith and writing. They guard the gates of Eden, they announce the birth of Isaac, they stop Abraham from killing his son, they go up and down Jacob’s ladder... Well, who would doubt! It was Judaism, the oldest monotheistic religion in the world, that laid the foundation for the science of angels. Jewish angelology has gone through several stages of evolution over its thousand-year history, and is studied by dividing it into the biblical, Talmudic and post-Talmudic periods. 

     Beginning with the Jewish canon of the Old Testament, we encounter references to faith in angels (Ps 89:5-7), sometimes called “children of God” (Job 1:6; 38:7), angels who protect the servants of God (Isa 3 :9), participate in battles taking place in the spiritual realm (Dan 10:1; 12:1). Angels in Judaism are powerful, stern and even “terrible” (frightening), they are not subject to restrictions of time and space, they are endowed with deep knowledge about everything that happens on Earth, they are fair and faithful, holy, but not impeccable, sometimes they are angry with each other each other and fight with each other, at such moments God shows up and makes peace between them (Ps 16:25; 2 Sam 13:1-22; 17:20; 19:28; Zech 14:5, Rav 4:18; 25 :2). They are clear and bright like the sky, fire burns in them and they themselves emit radiance. They appear to man in the form of people of extraordinary beauty and at the same time are not immediately recognized (Gen. 2:28, 19:5; Judges). The book of Daniel writes about an angel dressed in linen, whose loins are girded with Uphazian gold: “His body was like beryl, his face like the appearance of lightning, his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze, and the sound of his words like the sound of a multitude. And I, Daniel, alone saw the vision (of this heavenly being), for the men who were with me did not see the vision; nevertheless, a great panic overwhelmed them, so they ran away to hide themselves” (Dan 10:5; 10:6; 10:7).

     The number of angels is huge. Joshua sees "the head of the hosts of the Lord"; God is sitting on His throne, “and the whole heavenly army was standing by Him at His right and at His left”.

     If the Old Testament angels in general terms remain almost undisclosed, there are very few references to the angelic hierarchy, with the exception of the book of Daniel, angelic names do not appear, the functions of angels are limited, and the theme of the fall is hardly touched upon, then in post-biblical times the heavenly inhabitants become more organized, divided into types , some are even given names, referred to by mission: “the angel who redeemed”, “the guide”,

“the angel who destroyed”, “the messenger of the covenant”, “a group of evil angels”. Angels reveal themselves to individuals or entire nations to announce important events, good or bad: thus they predict the birth of Isaac to Abraham, the birth of Samson to Manoah, and the destruction of Sodom to Abraham.

    The two main categories into which angels are divided in Judaism are angels of good and angels of evil. Angels of good or “savior angels” protect man from all sorts of troubles that evil angels or “pest angels” prepare for him - they scatter obstacles, disrupt his plans, break his spirit in order to test him. If man commits a fall, destroyer angels get down to business in order to teach him a lesson, to “fix” him. The angels of evil are necessary to maintain balance in the world. It is important: it is not entirely correct to consider them truly evil, because they pursue bright goals - to teach humanity goodness, to cure it of sin, thereby, together with the angels of good, to bring it to the pleasure of the Lord.

      So, we have an explosive mixture of information from post-epigrapha, Talmud and Midrash, mystical and Kabbalistic literature, which is not only difficult to sort, but simply unrealistic. The fact is that Jewish angelology was never reduced to a single system that the church accepted and approved. Because of too many doctors of the church who lived and taught at different times, in different places, under very different circumstances, it is still difficult to this day to differentiate between the Palestinians and the Babylonians, the Tannaim and the Amoraim, to obtain descriptions of Heaven due to the difficulties of understanding the exegetical features of the sermon (it is worth noting that the social status of the audience also mattered), to establish boundaries between scientific works and simply popular opinions, between individual and general views, between outdated and eternal ideas...

     Thus, unlike Christianity and Islam, where all information is systematically organized. Jewish angelology represents chaotically scattered data. For their research, scientists choose material according to their individual preferences.

    In modern Judaism, angels are related to mythology rather than theology, and are interpreted as literary symbols. Most modern Jews do not even know that Jewish angelology even exists. This has been influenced by the last 150 years of rationalism and anti-mysticism. “ In fact, I can’t recall any serious discussion of angels or belief in their existence the entire time I was in rabbinical school, except for trying to explain away why our Biblical ancestors needed such a metaphor in the Torah,” - the author of the article “Do Jews Believe in Angels”, published on the Temple B’nai Shalom platform, shares with us. In any case, the degree of belief in angels may vary among different orthodox groups. For example, among Hasidim and traditionalists, the belief in angels in angels, in full accordance with traditional ideas about them, continues to this day.

2. The angelic world

1. 1. Features of the nature of angels

Regarding the nature of angels, the world's religions are in many respects more likely to agree than not agree.

About the Beginning. Angels were created by the Lord, there is no doubt about this in any of the religions: “O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, on the throne that is above the cherubim, You alone are God of all the kingdoms of the earth. You made the heavens and the earth.” (Isaiah 37:16); "To Him belongs everything in the heavens and the earth; all are subservient to Him” (Sura 2 “The Cow” 116 verses);

     In Christianity and Judaism it is not mentioned what angels are created from, but according to Islam, angels are woven from the element of light: the hadith tells us: “Angels were created from light, Jinn were created from a smokeless flame of fire, and Adam was created from what was described to you” (clay, which, by the way, was obtained by angels from Mecca from Yemen);

     About appearance. Angels do not have physical bodies, only spiritual ones, and they are beautiful! When Saint John saw an angel in all his glory in one of his visions, he believed that it was God himself and worshiped him, which was a mistake (Revelation 22:8). Scriptures make it clear that they have wings and that they shine with a dazzling light;

     They are distinguishable by appearance, for example, by the number of wings: “All praise is for Allah, the Originator of the heavens and the earth, Who made angels ˹as His˺ messengers with wings - two, three, or four...” (Holy Quran 35:1); Ezekiel describes the cherubim in his vision with different faces and wings (1:6-11);

    People, with the exception of prophets, due to the limitations of their senses, are unable to see the true appearance of angels; such a conclusion can be drawn from the fact that in order to communicate with humans, angels “for the sake of their own (people’s) safety” always take on a human form;

     This is interesting: the above-mentioned fact was creatively illustrated in the American TV series “Supernatural”. A woman tries to summon a certain creature through a ritual, not knowing that it is an angel. He tells her to stop, because “his true form can be overwhelming to humans,” but she does not let up and tries to force him to appear to her. As a result, her eyes... burst into flames. She survives, but remains blind and deeply traumatized by what she saw.

     Of course, nowhere in the Scriptures is it stated that a person's eyes will burn when they see an angel; this was just a creative decision by the writers.

Since angels are ethereal, they do not have any sexual characteristics. It is noteworthy that when appearing to people, they always choose male shells: “And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted" (Mark 16:5); Umar reported: "One day, we were sitting with the Messenger of Allah when there appeared before us a man dressed in extremely white clothes, and had very black hair. No traces of travel were visible on him, and none of us knew him. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “It was Jibril (Gabriel) who came to teach you your religion.” Not once in the Scriptures did angels come as women; 

     About abilities. Angels are very powerful. They are able to control the elements (like the angels of nature in Islam), destroy entire villages (as in the case of Sodom and Gamorrah); they feel complete freedom of movement in space and time; they are super-fast: an angel moved the prophet Avuk from Judea to Babylon “at the speed of spirit”; they can be present in several places at the same time, but all this is within the limits of what Creator has permitted;

    About intelligence. Angels are deeply wise, but their knowledge is also limited, since they

are all, however, creatures, they cannot know everything that the Lord knows: "He (Allah) said: 'I know that which you do not know'" (Holy Quran 2:30). For instance, angels do not know the time of the second arrival of Christ: “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” (Matthew 24:36); 

      About feelings. Angels are capable of experiencing feelings: they love and hate, rejoice and get sad, they pray and intercede for those they love, while never going beyond the boundaries prescribed to them by God, e.g. they rejoice when God's servants do good deeds and when sinners repent (Luke 15:10);

     About life needs. Angels do not need food and water to sustain life: “But when he saw their hands not reaching for it, he distrusted them and felt from them apprehension. They said, 'Fear not. We have been sent to the people of Lot'" (Surah 11 “Hud” verse 70); they do not get tired, do not get sick, do not weaken, do not sleep (Holy Quran 21:19); (Luke 20:36);

     About relationships with each other. Angels communicate with each other (Zach 1; 11) in a language called “enlightenment”;

     This is interesting: in the 16th century, occultists John Dee and Edward Kelly created or rather “recreated” the supposedly lost language of angels - Enochian, so named because Enoch was the last to speak it. It had its own alphabet, morphological and syntactic foundations. John and Edward claimed that the angels themselves taught them the basics of language in order to communicate with “the other side.” In “Supernatural”, it is Enochian that is used as the native language of angels.

     Jesus taught that in the resurrection people do not get married, but are “like the angels in heaven” (Matthew 22:30), which means that angels do not marry each other. This is logical, say Muslim scholars, considering that they have no division into male and female;

     About will. And here we are dealing with the first case when the two religions strongly disagree with each other. We know from the Bible that some of the angels fell along with Lucifer. It is logical to assume that angels, still, have will and choice, and if some chose the Lord and remained holy, others turned away from him and became demons. Islam claims that angels have neither will nor nafs (passions), this is granted only to people and jinn, and angels are absolutely sinless, therefore they will not be judged on the Day of Judgment, and there are no fallen among them. How then, you ask, will Islam explain to us the fall of the devil and the existence of evil? And this is another very interesting question that we will definitely cover, but a little later.

     About the End. Angels do not grow old or die a natural death (Luke 20:36), they cannot be killed, based on the fact that in the war waged by the holy angels against the fallen, one cannot kill another (Revelation 12:7);

     Islam teaches that on the Day of Judgment, the angels, like all living things on earth and Heaven, will suffer death: “Whatsoever is on it (the earth) will perish. And The Face of your Lord Full of Majesty and Honour will remain forever" (the meaning of verses 26-27 of Surah Ar-Rahman", tafsir "al-Muntahab"); and even the angel of death Azrael himself will die! First, Raphael will blow on his Horn, and everything on earth and in Heaven will die from this sound, except for the four archangels. Allah will command Azrael to take their lives too, and the archangels will beg Him to ease their death throes. Azrael will kill the archangels one by one. Then Allah will say to the only one left alive in the whole world, the angel of death: “I swear by My Greatness and Power, I will certainly make you taste death, taste what you forced My slaves to taste. Go, stand between Heaven and Hell and die." Then the angel of death will stand between Heaven and Hell, scream with such a great cry that if there were at least one living creature left in the world, it would certainly die, and give up the ghost.

1. 2. Ranks and varieties of angels

  The angelic hierarchy is perhaps one of the most fascinating parts of the winged world. The hierarchy of angels is an ordered representation of the position of angels from highest to lowest. For many centuries, church teachers have studied the question of the structure of the intricate angelic world's “pyramid”. The ideas put forward by some were rejected by others, and a version universally accepted as the only correct one has not emerged to this day. The first in Christian theology to create a detailed and thoughtful classification of angels is the unknown author of a collection of theological works in Greek - Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite. The heavenly hierarchy according to Pseudo-Dionysius is divided into three spheres, each sphere consists of three more ranks. The division is supposedly carried out according to two principles: the degree of closeness to God and the type of service.

    This is interesting: it was this hierarchy, with minor changes, that Dante used in his “Divine Comedy”.

     First Sphere. Seraphim (“fiery”, “flaming”) are the highest of all angelic ranks and the closest to God. Isaiah describes the Seraphim as six-winged heavenly beings with burning love for God, which is why they got such a name (6; 6:7). Surrounding His throne, they tirelessly praise Him: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts.” They cover their faces with their wings to protect themselves from the intense glow emitted by God. Love for the Lord burns in them so bright that they themselves emit such a fiery light that other angels cannot see their faces. Seraphim encourage others to the same flaming love for God. Cherubim (“minds”) are the four-winged guardians of all heavenly records and divine knowledge. They shine “with the light of the knowledge of God and send down wisdom and enlightenment to others.” Thrones are described as luminous wheels covered with many eyes, serving the justice of God. Sitting on them, the Lord carries out His Judgment.

     Second Sphere. Dominions are responsible for protecting conscience and history, as well as distributing power among people. They instruct earthly rulers in wise government with the help of rays of light that they send to them for inspiration. Virtues are miracle workers, gifting those worthy on Earth so that they can perform miracles, heal diseases, and predict the future. Powers tame the power of the devil, protect from his influence, help drive away sinful thoughts and fight temptations.

     Third Sphere. Principalities, receiving orders from higher ranks, convey them to the rest and monitor the process of the angels fulfilling their duties. They are also responsible for managing the universe, protecting countries, peoples, and tribes. Archangel literally translates to “chief of angels.” The Bible mentions seven archangels: Michael (“who is like God”), Gabriel (“power of God”), Raphael ("healing of God"), Uriel ("light of God"), Selafiel (“prayer to God”), Jeremiel (“height of God"), Barachiel ("blessing of God"), each of which has its own tasks. Archangel Michael is depicted as a warrior, in armor, with a sword, often trampling Lucifer underfoot. Michael is a well-known and highly revered figure among Christians, because it is he who, commanding the holy army of angels, defeated Satan and overthrew him from Heaven. The main tasks of Michael are to protect people from the destructive influence of demons, natural disasters and answer sincere prayers for help. Archangel Gabriel - evangelist and enlightener - comes to people to reveal divine secrets. He is the one who appeared to the Virgin Mary to announce the birth of the Savior, and to Elizabeth - about the birth of the great prophet, John. Archangel Raphael is a healer; in the book of Daniel he appears as a traveler healing people from various diseases and ailments, including spiritual. Uriel is a mentor to the lost, helping the confused and desperate to find the way and get out of the darkness of ignorance. Selafiel helps people find such a virtue as the desire to pray to God in their souls. Jeremiel sets the thoughts, souls, and hearts of people on the path of light in order to lift them to God.

Barachiel prays for the blessing and preservation of all the righteous. And finally, Angels (guardian angels) are the last and closest angelic rank to people. They accompany a person from the very moment of birth without leaving them, protect their soul and body, pray to God for them, and after death, take their soul to another world.

In Islam, the hierarchy of angels starts with the archangels - muqarrabun - the strongest beings after God and the closest to Him. The archangels include Jibril (Gabriel), Mikail (Michael), Israfil (Raphael) and Azrail. Sometimes Isa (Jesus) is also added to them, which speaks of the (partial) angelic nature of his.

     Jibil is the main intermediary between God and the chosen and prophets. He protected Adam after the exile and helped the first people to adapt to life on Earth, saved Noah, taught Yusuf (Joseph), David, appeared to Mariam (Mary) and Zechariah with messages, patronized Jesus, Muhammad, Moses. When the prophet Muhammad was a child, he opened his chest, cleansed his heart and filled it with wisdom and faith. Mikail sets the planets in motion, controls the weather, and is responsible for providing food for God's creatures. He was one of the first to bow down to Adam. He helped Jibril to wash Muhammad's heart. When Mikail weeps out of pity for the sinful believers, Allah creates an angel in the likeness of Mikail himself, who then helps him (the archangel) in the management of nature. Israfil is the one who will blow the Horn on the Day of Judgment. When he blows into it for the first time, all life on Earth and in Heaven will either die or lose consciousness. For the second time, the Resurrection will begin. Israfil has been waiting for the order ever since he was given the Horn. Three times a day he weeps over the torment of the sinners in hell, bowing in an arc, and if Allah had not forbidden him to shed tears, he would have flooded the whole earth with them. Malak al-Mawt or Azrael is the angel of death, the one who gathers the souls of the dead, the one who will take the life of all living creatures of Earth and Heaven at the End of the World, and then kill himself. Azrael was the only one of the four archangels sent to Earth to extract the clay for the creation of Adam who coped with the task.

     Qarubiyun are angels who carry the Throne of God. They are also among those close to God, therefore, in their hierarchy, they are higher than other angels. There are eight of them, and each of them is endowed with the power of man, angel and shaitan to carry the Arsh (Throne).

     Ridwan is the guardian of Heaven and Malik is the guardian of Hell who never smiles. He leads 19 stoker angels who punish sinners in hell.

     Munkar and Nakir are stern angels of the grave who conduct interrogation after death, depending on the results of which the grave becomes either a blissful place or torment for a person.

     Guardian angels relentlessly follow a person. two in front and two behind, protecting them and leaving when the Lord commands, if misfortune is destined to happen to a person. There are also angels-scribes, they sit on a person’s shoulders and write down all their deeds - one on the right records good deeds, the other one, on the left, records bad ones.

     There are Mikail's assistants - the angel of the mountains, the angel of thunder, the angel of plants and animals, the angel of soil, etc. and Azrail's assistants – the reapers. Many other nameless angels are mentioned in Islam: angels who distribute God's instructions, angels who monitor the order in which these instructions are carried out, warrior angels, traveler angels who wander the roads in search of the praying righteous to answer them, and others.

1. 3. The question of free will among angels. Fallen angels

Do angels have a will? The Bible gives a clear answer – yes, every angel was given free will.

     In the beginning, Adam and Eve were pure and sinless. They lived in a heavenly abode, where they were allowed everything except one single thing - the fruit of a tree in the middle of Elem. Adam and Eve violated the ban of their own free will, for which they were punished - expelled from the garden. Angels started out just as sinless, but after the significant event, they were divided into two camps - the holy and the fallen. The angels we know and love are those who have chosen the path of serving God. Those angels who rebelled along with Lucifer fell from Heaven, losing the war against Michael and his holy army.

Lucifer, aka the Devil, aka Satan, aka the Tempting Serpent, once the brightest and purest creation of God, a beautiful, noble cherub, who was given enormous power and authority over many angels, rebelled against God and was cast out of Heaven. How could this happen? The reason for this is pride: “Your heart was proud because of your beauty; you ruined your wisdom because of your splendor" (Ezekiel 28:17). Apparently, Lucifer was so in love with himself that he lost his mind, decided that he was worthy of more than serving under God, he was worthy of becoming God. He wanted to raise a throne for himself at the edge of the north, ascend to the heights of the clouds and become like the Almighty. “Therefore I [God] have brought fire from the midst of you; It has consumed you, And I have turned you to ashes on the earth In the eyes of all who see you.” Then Lucifer vowed to make the life of God's children on Earth miserable, to curse them and tempt them, as he tempted Eve. He convinced some of the angels to follow him, and they also fell and became demons, who to this day serve under him, sowing anger, hatred and discord among people.

 According to Islam, however, angels were created immaculate and remain so to this day, there are no sinners among them, because they do not have a will of their own. How, then, did Satan fall? It's as simple as that - Satan never was an angel! Iblis, also known as Shaitan, was once the most beautiful and intelligent jinn who, by virtue of his diligence, was honored to be among angels (in fact, he almost rose to the level of an angel). When Allah created Adam, He commanded His angels to prostrate themselves before him. Iblis was among them, so the order applied to him as well. All those present bowed their heads except Iblis, who was overcome by envy of the creature that Allah had exalted. He refused to bow down to Adam because he thought he was superior to him: "I am better than he, You created me from fire, and You created him from clay"( Qur'an, 7:12). Allah replied: "O Iblis! What prevented you from prostrating yourself to what I created with My hands? Is it your arrogance, or do you think that you are so high above all others?" 

     The proud Iblis never repented of his sin, he was openly inclined to enmity with Adam and his posterity, and for this he was cursed, humiliated and banished. Iblis made a final request to God - to give him a respite until the Day of Resurrection, and until that day he, along with his offspring, would lead people astray from the path to the Lord's pleasure in order to drag them to hell, and only those who resisted him and remained faithful to God would be saved from the flames of hell and enter Paradise. Allah agreed: "Go, for whoever of them follows you, indeed Hell will be the recompense of you - an ample recompense. And incite (to senselessness) whoever you can among them with your voice and assault them with your horses and foot soldiers and become a partner in their wealth and their children and promise them. But Satan does not promise them except delusion. Indeed, over My (believing) servants there is for you no authority. And sufficient is your Lord as Disposer of affairs." (16:63-65) 

     Thus, the reason for the fall of Satan is pride - one of theseven deadly sins.

3. Angel-human special bond. Guardian angels

Every soul that comes into this world is under the care of higher powers. No one is alone, each of us is watched over day and night by noble spirits from among the Heavenly Host: “Yet truly there are guardians over you” (Holy Quran 82:11); “For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.” (Ps. 92:11-12).

     There is some disagreement among the doctors of the church about when angels join man. Some believe that at birth, others claim that at the moment of baptism. Today, the unanimous opinion of most theologians is this: guardian angels are assigned to a person at birth and become their eternal life partners in both worlds. For them, one’s nationality, culture, faith or lack thereof are not important, by the grace of God, they protect everyone: “There is not a single soul which does not have a guardian over it.” (Holy Quran 86:4).

      Guardian angels are protectors. The world we live in is full of dangers. Such a fragile and unprotected creature as a human may encounter everywhere, be it a speck of dust that can get into the eye, an oncoming car, bad people, animals or diseases. Angels protect them from everything that could cause harm as long as the Lord wants it. If God ordained harm to a person as part of the test, then nothing can prevent it, and the angels will step aside from the ward, but then they will definitely return to them to help and console.

Guardian angels are spiritual guides. There is a constant struggle between good and evil going on inside every person. Demons, approaching them, tempt them, lead them astray and push them to sin, and guardian angels pull them to the side of good and light. Of course, the final choice always remains with the person, because they are given free will, they can listen to their angels or they can ignore them. Angels cannot force them to do anything, only tell them how to act correctly in different life situations. And if a person still does something bad, then the angels will not leave them alone until they realize their guilt and repent. Perhaps the inner voice that we call conscience is the voice of angels?

     Guardian angels are intercessors. People, alas, aren't perfect like angels. No matter how hard they try to be good, they often break down, succumb to temptations and indulge in sins. Guardian angels intercede for their ward before God, daily pray to Him for forgiveness for them and for their salvation from the fire of hell.

Guardian angels are friends. Believers urge you to never think that you are alone in the whole world. Even at your lowest, your guardian angels are always there for you. They will spiritually “embrace” you, cover you with their wings like a blanket, and comfort you, and then a feeling of relief will come to you, sadness will pass and rays of hope will settle in your soul.

     Guardian angels never leave or turn away from their human willingly. Unless a person themselves can push angels away, allowing evil spirits to take over, for example, by lying. The prophet Muhammad narrates that when a person lies, the angels move a thousand miles away from them because of the foul smell that comes from them when a lie comes out of their mouth. 

You can get your angels back by repenting and returning to good deeds. Angels are happy when people find a moment to dedicate to God, do things that lead to Salvation, when a sinner repents: “I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repents more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance” (Luke 15:7); angels especially love it when people treat each other well: love, support, help, respect and care for each other. When a person prays for their neighbor, angels join them and for every wish made for a friend they say: “Amen. May God give you the same.”

Guardian angels cannot be prayed to; they reject prayers directed to them personally. Only

God is worthy of worship. The best way to apologize, please or thank your guardian angels is

to please God!

Guardian angels are as close to a person as possible. They know the biography of their

human from start to finish, they remember every word they have ever said and every action they have ever performed, they are aware of all their innermost thoughts and desires, fears and doubts. The only one who is closer than a guardian angel to a person is God Himself.

The connection between guardian angels and their charges is strong and eternal. Even after the death of their human, they do not leave them alone, but remain at their grave, waiting for the Day of Judgment with them.

Angelic intervention in our lives. Guardian angels don't tend to interfere in a person’s life without their permission, as they respect their right to freedom of choice. But when someone falls into danger before their time, angels begin to send them signals: intuitive sensations, dreams, weird behavior of animals, a suddenly falling object, obstacles that arise literally out of the blue - to help them make a vital decision, and in critical situations, when there is no time for thinking and taking any action - for example, when a child is standing in the middle of the highway, paralyzed with fear, and a huge truck is rushing towards them at breakneck speed - guardian angels simply take matters into their strong hands. And then suddenly, out of nowhere, a man appears on the empty road, takes the frightened child to a safe zone, and quickly disappears into the crowd.

      Sometimes we encounter inexplicable phenomena our lives. It happens that, after getting ready for hours on end, we cancel our plans at the last moment for no reason and do not go to an event where an armed robbery later occurs, we lose our passport right before leaving for the airport, we are late for a flight, and then we find out from the news that that our plane was involved in a plane crash, a sharp gust of wind forces us to move away from the place where a second later a piece of building material falls... And we sit in amazement, wondering how we managed to escape from a seemingly inevitable disaster. Some will chalk it all up to luck, some will thank their strong intuition, and some will call it a miracle. Perhaps this is truly a miracle? The miracles that our guardian angels perform, protecting us, as commanded from Above?

The following is reportedly a true incident that happened.

It was reported in a local paper in Rochdale (A town, northeast of Manchester), of a young woman who was attacked in a narrow dark alley one evening.

On a separate evening around the same time, a young girl was walking home from college. Aware that it was getting dark fast, she wanted to get home as soon as possible, so her mother would not be worrying. The young girl faced a dilemma. To take the short-cut down the same alleyway to avoid getting home after dark, or to take the longer but safe route and have her mother worrying about her safety.

Conscious of the time, she takes the alleyway. While the girl is walking she sees a rather sinister and dark figure of a man walking towards her from the other end. Out of fear, she quickens her pace and begins to read a prayer.

The man, he makes eye contact but carries on walking. When the young girl reaches home she tells her family about this sinister looking man, they advise her to contact the police, after having read the newspaper article some time before. When she contacts the police they ask her to give a physical description of the man. It matches the description the rape victim had given.

Some days later the girl receives a phone call from the police, asking her if she would come down to the police station to identify the man in a line up. Both the victim and the student pick out the same man.

The police are confused; they ask the rapist why he attacked one woman and not the other.

In reference to the young girl, he replies, "Why would I attack her when she was walking with two huge men on either side of her?"

_CONCLUSION

During the implementation of the research work, the following conclusions were made:

Belief in the messengers of God is enshrined in all three Abrahamic religions. From the holy books of Christians and Muslims one can get a clear idea about them: angels are beautiful, pure, righteous spirits serving good. They were created long before mankind. They live in a space invisible to us, carrying out a lot of different orders of God, from the most minor to the great, historically significant ones. The main of their many functions are glorifying the Creator and caring for His beloved creations - people.

In Judaism, the case of angels is extremely complex. Jewish angelology, having undergone many changes and innovations, various interpretations of texts, disputes and speculations during its long and complicated history, has not been “put in order” and accepted by the synagogue to our time. Today, angels do not occupy a significant place in Jewish teaching; modern Jews do not believe in angels.

Angels are ethereal beings endowed with beautiful appearance incomprehensible to the human eye, supernatural abilities, deep knowledge, feelings and emotions. However, their feelings do not affect them as much as they do people; they cannot shake the main thing in them – love and loyalty to God.

The world of angels is structured in such a way that each angel has its own special status depending on its place in the angelic hierarchy. Above all in this hierarchy are the angels who are closest to God, below are the angels whose work fully covers the earthly world. In the Scriptures, particularly in the Quran, there are many other types of angels are named, without mentioning their relationship to hierarchy, such as: scribe angels, thunderstorm angels, custodian angels, etc.

Biblical angels are endowed with free will, but according to the Quran, angels strictly do only what they are ordered to do. Lucifer in Christianity is a former angel who once rebelled against God, for which he was expelled from Heaven along with some of the angels whom he won over to his side. In Islam there are no such concepts as “fallen angel” or “heavenly war”, all angels were and remain flawless, and Satan is considered a fallen jinn. In both cases, however, the devil fell because of his excessive pride.

Every person has guardian angels - strong patrons who guide them along the path of life, protecting their soul and body from any manifestation of evil, inspiring them to virtue and praying for them day and night, in order to one day lead their immortal soul to Salvation. Guardians are man’s closest friends. They know all his thoughts, words and deeds, what is hidden in the outskirts of consciousness and what is buried deep in the soul. Even death will not destroy the connection of guardian angels with their human - they spend their entire earthly life with their ward and remain with them in the afterlife.

To warn man about something important and help him arrange things in the best way for him, angels use subtle clues, so it is important to listen to your inner voice, carefully look at the world around you, notice details so as not to miss these clues. Sometimes there is still a need for direct intervention of angels in the course of events - this is how amazing rescue stories arise, which can only be called a miracle.

Thus, all the assigned tasks were solved, the goal, namely, to study angels as individual beings representing the spiritual world, was achieved, the hypothesis was confirmed.

Верите ли вы в ангелов? Наверняка когда-то да верили – хотя бы в далёком детстве, когда мир казался полным волшебства, и добрые создания, летающие по небу на своих прекрасных крыльях, присматривая за людьми, чтобы с ними не случилось ничего плохого, были его частью. Дети вырастают, магии в жизни становится всё меньше, и будучи взрослыми многие уже не видят ангелов как реальных существ из иного мира, а воспринимают их лишь как метафорические литературные образы, олицетворяющие добрые начала. Другие же не отрицают бытие Небес и их обитателей, однако считают, что они существует параллельно от нашего мира и никак на нас не влияют, а значит, и знать про них нам не положено. Но это не так.

     Актуальность темы исследования определяется тем, что ангелы играют ключевую роль в формировании у личности системы ценностей и идеалов, моральных принципов и этических взглядов, характера отношений с собой и окружающим миром.

Каждому человеку с детства прививаются моральные принципы – набор правил, которым необходимо следовать, чтобы быть хорошим человеком. Эти правила даёт нам религия, а помимо их – ещё и превосходных ролевых моделей, достойных, чтобы равняться на них. Этими фигурами, наряду с пророками, являются ангелы – эталон духовной чистоты, благородства, подлинной любви, верности, силы и мужества, идеал, которого человек увы никогда не сможет достичь, но к которому может – и должен! – постоянно стремиться и воспитывать в себе лучшие качества. Через этот образ в церкви, искусстве, культуре и поп-культуре транслируются положительные ценности: доброта, милосердие, сострадание к ближнему и пр. Отсюда вытекает и социальная значимость ангелов, ведь невозможно представить себе общество, существующее без морали! Вера в ангелов, в конце концов, положительно влияет на психику. Обретая фигуру защитника, человек чувствует постоянную эмоциональную поддержку и легче переносит психологические травмы. Ведь согласитесь, в минуты, когда особенно плохо, одиноко и страшно, вера в то, что кто-то там наверху присматривает за тобой, дарит утешение, вселяет надежду в душу и поднимает дух.

Но ангелы – это необязательно только про духовность. Мы сталкиваемся с фигурами, образами, символами ангелов сплошь и рядом в нашей повседневной жизни. Можно

привести целую тьму примеров появления ангелов в фильмах («Эта замечательная жизнь», «Знакомьтесь, Джо Блэк», «Небо над Берлином», «Константин: повелитель тьмы») и сериалах («Сверхъестественное», «Благие знамения»), песнях («SendMeAnAngel» группы «Scorpions», «HymnForTheWeekend» группы «Coldplay»), и даже мультфильмах («Друзья ангелов», «Ангел Бэби»»), не говоря уже об искусстве и культурном наследии (взять хоть к примеру многочисленные скульптуры ангелов по всему Санкт-Петербургу)! А наши привычки и традиции? Падать на свежий снег и делать «снежных ангелов», ставить «ангелочка» на верхушку рождественской ёлки, дарить друг другу открытки с изображением мифического ангела любви Купидона на день всех влюблённых, ласково называть «ангелом» любимого человека, или очень хорошего человека, или всё вместе.

     Ангелы, эти прекрасные, пречистые, дивные небесные создания присутствуют на наших экранах, в наших музыкальных проигрывателях, в нашей культуре, традициях, речи, а мы их даже не замечаем и так мало о них знаем! опыт обещает быть интересным. В конце концов, нам всегда нравилось погружаться в вымышленные вселенные игр, книг и фильмов, так что же нам мешает насладиться путешествием в мир ангелов?

Целью исследования поставлено понять, что из себя представляют ангелы как представители духовного мира

Для этого поставлены задачи:

• Используя Священные Писания, сформировать общее представление об ангелах в христианстве, исламе и иудаизме

• Исследовать тонкости природы ангелов

• Определить принципы устройства мира ангелов

• Поднять вопрос свободы воли у ангелов, разобрать две очень разные точки зрения и выявить причину падения первого Падшего

• Шире изучить такой вид ангелов, как ангелы-хранители, и их особенную связь с людьми

Объектом исследования выступают ангелы

Предметом исследования – сущность, функции и роль ангелов в небесном и земном мирах

Гипотеза предполагает, что ангелы – это уникальные и интересные создания с набором своеобразных качеств, гармоничным миром, где действуют свои законы и порядки, историей и предназначением. Если Бог – писатель, а жизнь – книга, то ангелы – великолепно прописанные персонажи, определённо достойные внимания читателей!

Методы исследования: анализ литературных источников; наблюдение; сравнение; абстрагирование; синтез

1. Концепция ангела в мировых религиях

Само слово «ангел» толкуется во всех религиях практически одинаково. Оно взято из греческого «ἄγγελος» [ангелос], что в, свою очередь, является прямым переводом древнееврейского מלאך‬ [мал’а́х] – «посланник». Из иврита заимствовано арабское слово ملأك‎ ма́лак – «вестник», «посланник». Таким образом, перевод этого слова буквально: тот, кто передаёт Слово Божие. Наука, изучающая ангелов, именуется ангелологией (от греч. ἄγγελος – ангел и λόγος – учение). Что мы знаем об ангелах: кто они? Когда появились? Каково их предназначение? Обратимся же за ответами к главному источнику знаний обо всём духовном – Священным Писаниям.

1. 1. Взгляд христианства

Ангелы – это служебные духи, обладающие сверхъестественными способностями. В отличии от человека, созданного как существо физическое, ангелы не имеют плоти (Евреям 1:14), однако обладают личностью (исходя хотя бы из того, что в Писании они упоминаются по именам), волей (Луки 8:28-31; Тимофею 2:26), эмоциями (Луки 2:13; Иакова 2:19; Откровение 12:17), интеллектом (Матфея 8:29; 1 Петра 1:12). Они очень могущественны (Псалом 103:20), намного могущественнее людей (2 Петра 2:11; Матфея 28:2), свою силу они используют для борьбы с тёмными силами (Откровение 12:7-8).

Мир ангелов. Они обитают преимущественно в пространстве, где не действуют законы нашей вселенной, в невидимом, духовном мире – на Небесах (1 Царей 8:27; Иоанна 6:38). На Землю они спускаются для исполнения Божьих поручений.

Создание. Библия не даёт конкретного ответа относительно времени сотворения ангелов, однако, исследуя некоторые моменты книги Бытия, мы можем выявить его самостоятельно.

Итак, в Бытие говорится, что Бог создал всё из ничего за шесть дней, и ангелы – не исключение, они тоже возникли не сами по себе, а по Слову Божьему. Известно, что ангелы были созданы раньше людей, ибо они присутствовали при сотворении Земли: «Где был ты, когда Я полагал основания земли? Скажи, если знаешь. Кто положил меру ей, если знаешь? Или кто протягивал по ней вервь? На чем утверждены основания её, или кто положил краеугольный камень её при общем ликовании утренних звёзд, когда все сыны Божии восклицали от радости?» (Иов 38:4-7) Мы видим, что «утренние звёзды» («сыны Божии»), восхищаясь Его работой, пели и восхваляли Его. Эти звёзды и есть ангелы! Идём дальше, земные жители были сотворены на шестой день (Бытие 1:24-31), значит, смотрим выше: «И создал Бог два светила великие: светило большее, для управления днем (Солнце), и светило меньшее, для управления ночью (Луна), и звёзды» (Бытие 1:16) – это четвёртый день – день сотворения Небес и всех их обитателей («Так совершены небо и земля и все воинство их» (Бытие 2: 1)). Следовательно, Бог сотворил ангелов на четвёртый день создания мира. Впрочем, это лишь предположение, знать наверняка мы не можем, потому что опять таки чёткого ответа в Библии нет.

Количествоангелов. Ангелов очень-очень много: мы узнаём, что когда мы приходим к горе Сион, то оказываемся в окружении «тысяч и тысяч ангелов» (Евреям 12:22). Иоанн Богослов говорит: «Я слышал вокруг престола и живых существ и старейшин голос многих ангелов, насчитывающих мириады мириад» (Откровение 5:11). Поскольку они не подвержены смерти или какой-либо форме вымирания, их количество не уменьшается.

Для чего Бог создал ангелов? Казалось бы, ответ очевиден – чтобы они служили ему. Да, действительно, главное назначение ангелов заключается в исполнении воли Божией и прославлении Его, и да, именно этим они и занимаются: непрестанно воспевают Его:

«И взывали они друг ко другу и говорили: Свят, Свят, Свят Господь Саваоф! Вся земля полна славы Его!» (Исайи 6:3), радуются Его деяниям (Иова 38:6-7, 1:6; 2:1), поклоняются Ему (Евреям 1:6; Откровение 5:8-13). Вот некоторые из задач, посредством которых ангелы исполняют служение Господу:

     – сообщать волю Божью людям, особенно тем, кого избрал Бог, то есть, пророкам. Из новозаветного Откровения, мы знаем, что, являясь пророку во сне, ангел толкует ему видения, тем самым помогая «переводить» или «расшифровывать» Слово (Захарии 1:9). Кроме того, ангелы являются на Землю в великие моменты истории, как, например, возвестили пастухам о рождении Спасителя (Луки 2:9-14);

     – вершить Божий суд (Откровение 7:1; 8:2);

  – охранять души и тела людей на всех путях, утешать и наставлять их на праведный путь (Пс 90:10–11), слушать молитвы и отвечать на них (Деяния 12:5-10);

     – быть рядом с праведником в час смерти, поддерживать его, провожать его душу в Лучшее место (Луки 16:22) и др.

     Как мы видим, ангелы там на облаках не почивают, а трудятся не покладая крыльев, а почти все их обязанности, если задуматься, крутятся вокруг человека. Значит ли это, что Господь создал ангелов ради людей? Практически подарил их любимейшему из своих творений? Если так думать, то возникает вопрос: а зачем Ему ангелы, если Он может взаимодействовать с людьми непосредственно, ведь Он – Всезнающий, Всемогущий, Вездесущий, он вполне мог бы справляться со всем самостоятельно и совсем не уставать: «Разве ты не знаешь? разве ты не слышал, что вечный Господь Бог, сотворивший концы земли, не утомляется и не изнемогает?» (Исаия 40:28), – так для чего же Ему конкретно ангелы? Стоп, а для чего Ему тогда мы, люди?.. Чем дальше заходишь в своих размышлениях, тем больше вопросов возникает, происходит путаница, и всё начинает терять всякий смысл. Что ж, давайте постепенно распутывать нити, отталкиваясь от христианской идеологии вперемешку с простыми фактами из жизни простых людей.

Начнём с вопроса: а зачем люди заводят, ну, к примеру, хомяков? Зачем людям – работающим, учащимся, семейным, занятым с утра да утра: друг другом, делами, да хоть мыслями, тонущим в рутине и едва справляющимся с собственной жизнью – ютить к себе живое существо, о котором необходимо заботиться, кормить, развлекать, следить за его комфортом и здоровьем? Отчего мы способны проводить часы напролёт, выбирая скатерть на кухонный стол или украшая новогоднюю ёлку? Зачем мы поём, сочиняем, рисуем? Эти вещи не имеют абсолютно никакого смысла вселенских масштабов, так почему мы занимаемся этим, и почему это дарит нам такое чистое счастье? Всё просто. Мы – создания любви, любовь прочно заложена в каждом из нас, она – основа, она – принцип, она – двигатель. Кто-то может эту любовь отрицать, подавлять, но что есть, то есть. Нам мало просто быть, мало собственной жизни, в нас кипит желание что-то отдавать, а не только потреблять. Поэтому мы вяжем свитера, сажаем сады, заводим детей, в конце концов, – это всё наше стремление творить, наводить красоту, созидать жизнь и дарить ей свою любовь. И если мы созданы по образу и подобию Божьему, то ответ на вопрос всплывает естественным образом: Богу незачем ангелы, он просто позволяет им быть, потому что любит. Всё, что Он делает Он делает из любви, всё, что создаёт, Он создаёт с любовью, потому что Он и есть любовь. Между всем прочим, ангелы не обделены свободной волей, так же как и способностью мыслить, так что служение Господу – их осознанный выбор, сделанный тоже из любви. Бог любит ангелов, а они любят Его. Вот и всё!

Это был краткий обзор ангелов Библии, к ней мы ещё вернёмся, а пока даём слово Корану.

1.2 Взгляд ислама

Вера в ангелов является одним из шести столпов Имана (вера в исламе). В Священном Коране говорится: «Благочестие заключается не в том, кто в какую сторону молится: на восток или запад. Благочестив тот, кто уверовал в Аллаха, в Судный День, в мир ангелов, в Писание, в пророков Божьих» (2:177).

Мир ангелов – таинственный параллельный нам мир, который, однако, соприкасается и взаимодействует с нашим, но в котором не работают известные нам законы физики. Обитатели этого мира – малаика (араб. ملائك‎, в ед. ч. малак مَلَكْ‎  – «посланник», «вестник») – безмерно мудрые, невероятно могущественные, прекрасные ликом, преданные слуги Аллаха (2:285). Ангелов нельзя увидеть, но в них положено верить: «…воинство твоего Господа не знает никто, кроме Него. Это же не что иное, как Напоминание для человечества» (74:31). Отрицающий существование ангелов отрицает самого Аллаха. Ангелы относятся как бы «к высшему обществу», так как Аллах избрал их для поклонения Ему и исполнения воли Его, одарил их знаниями и силой, превосходящими способности людей и джиннов во много раз (37:8). Главной особенностью ангелов в мусульманской вере является их абсолютная покорность Богу и неспособность согрешить.

Создание. В Священной книге мусульман, как и в Библии, нет конкретизации насчёт времени сотворения ангелов. Согласно Корану, Бог сотворил целый мир за шесть дней (7:54). Сначала он создаёт Небеса и Землю; из следующего аята, можно предположить, что обитель ангелов возникла раньше нашей планеты: «Вы ли более величественны в том, как сотворены, или небо, выстроенное Им? Он поднял его высоту и выровнял. Ночью Он затемняет небосвод и выводит утро. Землю после этого Он сделал ровной. Вывел из нее воду и пастбища. Горы Он укрепил. Все это Он передал вам в пользование для услады и вашего домашнего скота» (79:27-30). Затем были созданы моря, реки, дождь, Солнце и Луна, а уж потом – ангелы. Аллах соткал их тела их стихии света, но совсем иного толка, чем тот, с которым мы сталкиваемся в земной жизни, – этот чистый свет является божественным и именуется нурой. Из суры «Корова», аята 30 мы узнаём, что Аллах сообщил своим ангелам о своём намерении поставить на Землю наместника, подразумевая прародителя человечества Адама: «Вот твой Господь сказал ангелам: “Я установлю на Земле наместника”», – а затем велел им склониться перед ним (15:29). Так, ангелы появились раньше людей, и среди всех созданий Божьих онипреобладают по количеству, говорят, нет на Небесах места, где ты не увидишь ангелов. Точная их численность известна только Аллаху (исходя из 31 аята суры «аль-Мудассир», тафсир «аль-Мунтахаб»).

Для чего Аллах создал ангелов? Итак, Бог наделил ангелов способностями для выполнения своих заповедей. Все без исключения процессы природы и космоса происходят благодаря труду ангелов. То есть, ничто в мире не происходит само по себе, начиная с движения галактик и заканчивая вращением электронов вокруг ядра – за всем этим стоят ангелы, работающие по повелению Господа. За определённые процессы, такие как движение облаков, рождение, смерть, отвечает определённый ангел. Кто-то приносит гром, кто-то следит за развитием эмбриона в утробе матери, кто-то занимается записями и т.д. Основные функции ангелов, расписанные в Коране, примерно такие же, как и в Библии: точно так же им положено восхвалять Господа днём и ночью: «Если превозносящиеся многобожники не слушают твоего повеления и отвергают его, не печалься! Ведь у твоего Господа в Небесном царстве есть такие – ангелы, – которые, не уставая, отвергают от Аллаха всё, что не подобает Ему, прославляют Его, Безупречного,

хвалами ночью и днём», передавать Откровение пророкам (42:51), охранять души во

время их пребывания в земном мире, а после смерти, собрав, возвращать их Господу (32:11).

Это интересно: ангелы ежедневно читают салават (хвалебные молитвы, благословение) пророкам и молятся за праведников на Земле. Они любят богобоязненных людей, молятся вместе с ними, когда те совершают искреннее поклонение Аллаху, умоляют Его принять их покаяния, простить им грехи и воздать им благ. Хадис велит нам не просить у Бога ничего, кроме добра, для себя и других, ибо что бы мы ни пожелали, ангелы скажут «аминь»: «Если после произнесения Бисмилля человек прочитает суру «аль-Фатиха», а затем скажет «Аминь», то на небе не останется ни одного ангела, который бы не просил прощения за этого человека». Удивительно то, что, когда человек находится в состоянии физической немощности по причине болезни или травмы, за каждый день и каждую ночь ангелы-писари записывают на его счёт столько благих дел, сколько он обычно совершает в нормальном состоянии, за что, несомненно, ему воздастся.

Ангелы – настоящий подарок Аллаха человечеству, посредством их Он проявляет милость и бесконечную любовь к своим творениям. Они столько делают для нашего мира и Вселенной в целом! Не то чтобы Аллах в них нуждался, чтобы управлять всеми этими процессами. И всё же он пожелал создать мир именно таким – таким, где есть место и человеку, и ангелу, и джинну, а в каждом решении Аллаха есть своя мудрость. Как любят говорить мусульмане, после высказывания своего мнения: «А Аллах знает лучше».

Дополнительно:

От библейского периода до апокрифов и псевдопиграфов, от свитков Мертвого моря до Талмуда, от мистического иудаизма и средневекового рационализма до современного иудаизма ангелы были и остаются частью еврейской веры и письма. Они охраняют ворота Эдема, они сообщают о рождении Исаака, они останавливают Авраама от убийства сына, они поднимаются и спускаются по лестнице Иакова… Ну ещё бы, ведь именно иудаизм, древнейшая из монотеистических религия мира, положил начало науке об ангелах. Еврейская ангелология за свою тысячелетнюю историю прошла через несколько этапов эволюции, и изучается путём деления на библейский, талмудический и постталмудичкский периоды.

Начиная с еврейского канона Ветхого Завета мы натыкаемся на намёки на веру в ангелов (Пс 89:5-7), которых иногда называют «детьми Божьими» (Иов 1:6; 38:7), ангелов, которые защищают слуг Божьих (Ис 3:9), участвуют в боях, происходящих в духовной сфере (Дан 10:1; 12:1). Ангелы в иудаизме могущественны, суровы и даже «ужасны» (устрашающи), они не подвергаются отграничениям времени и пространства, они наделены глубокими знаниями обо всём, что происходит на Земле, они справедливы и верны, святы, но небезукоризненно, порою они злятся друг на друга и борются друг с другом, в такие моменты Бог является и заключает мир между ними (Пс 16:25; 2 Сам 13:1-22; 17:20; 19:28; Зах 14:5, Рав 4:18; 25:2). Они чистые и яркие, как небо, в них горит огонь и сами они испускают сияние. Они являются человеку в виде людей необычайной красоты и в то же время опознаются не сразу (Быт 2:28, 19:5; Судьи). В книге Даниила пишется об ангеле, одетом в лён, чресла которого опоясаны уфазским золотом: «И Его тело было какберил, Его лицо – как вид молнии, Его глаза – как огненные факелы, Его руки и Его ноги – как блеск начищенной бронзы, а звук Его слов – как звук множества людей. И один я, Даниил, видел это видение, ибо люди, которые были со мной, не видели видения; напротив, на них напал сильный ужас и они убежали, чтобы спрятаться» (Дан 10:5; 10:6; 10:7). Количество ангелов огромно. Иаков собирает

множество ангелов; Иисус Навин видит «главу войск Господа»; Бог сидит на своем престоле, «вся армия небесная была рядом с ним».

Если ветхозаветные ангелы в общих чертах остаются почти нераскрытыми, ссылок на ангельскую иерархию очень мало, за исключением книги Даниила, ангельских имён не появляется, функции ангелов ограничены, а тема падения едва ли изложена, то в постбиблейские времена небесные обитатели становятся организованнее, делятся на типы, некоторые даже получают имена, упоминаются по миссиям: «ангел, который искупил», «проводник», «ангел, который разрушил», «посланник завета», «группа ангелов зла». Ангелы открываются отдельным людям или целым нациям, чтобы объявить о важных событиях, хороших или плохих: так они предсказывают Аврааму рождение Исаака, Маноа – рождение Самсона, а Аврааму – уничтожение Содома.

Две основные категории, на которые подразделяются ангелы в иудаизме – это ангелы добра и ангелы зла. Ангелы добра или «ангелы-спасители» оберегают человека от всевозможных бед, которые готовят для него ангелы зла или «ангелы-вредители» – разбрасывают препятствия, нарушают его планы, ломают его дух, чтобы испытывать его. Если человек совершает грехопадение, за дело берутся ангелы-разрушители, дабы преподать ему урок, «исправить» его. Ангелы зла необходимы для поддержания баланса в мире. Важно: их не совсем правильно считать действительно злыми, ведь они преследуют светлые цели – обучить человечество добру, вылечить его от греха, тем самым, вместе с ангелами добра, привести его к довольству Господа. 

Итак, мы имеем гремучую смесь сведений из постэпиграфов, Талмуда и Мидраша, мистической и каббалистической литературы, которую не то, что сложно рассортировать, а просто нереально. Дело в том, что иудейская ангелология никогда не была сведена к единой системе, которую приняла и утвердила синагога (еврейская церковь). Из-за слишком большого числа учителей церкви, которые жили и преподавали в разное время, в разных местах, при самых разных обстоятельствах, по сей день трудно провести различие между палестинцами и вавилонянами, таннаимами и амораимами, получить описания Небес в связи с трудностями понимания экзегетических особенностей проповеди (стоит отметить, что социальный статус аудитории тоже имел значение), установить границы между научными трудами и просто популярными мнениями, между индивидуальными и общими взглядами, между устаревшими и вечными идеями…

Таким образом, в отличии от христианства и ислама, где вся информация систематически организована. иудейская ангелология представляют собой хаотично разбросанные данные. Для своих исследований учёные выбирают материал в соответствии со своими индивидуальными предпочтениями.

В современном иудаизме ангелы относятся скорее к мифологии, чем теологии, и интерпретируются как литературные символы. Большинство современных евреев даже не знает, что еврейская ангелология вообще существует. На это повлияли последние 150 лет рационализма и антимистицизма. «В самом деле, я не могу вспомнить никаких серьёзных дискуссий об ангелах или веры в их существование, за всё время, что я учился в раввинской школе, за исключением попытки учителя объяснить, для чего нашим библейским предкам нужна была такая метафора в Торе», – делится с нами автор статьи «Верят ли евреи в ангелов?», опубликованной на платформе TempleB’naiShalom. Во всяком случае, степень веры в ангелов может быть разной среди различных групп ортодоксов. К примеру, среди хасидов и традиционалистов вера в ангелов в ангелов в полном соответствии с традиционными представлениями о них сохраняется и по сей день.

4. Мир ангелов

1. 1. Особенности природы ангелов

Насчёт природы ангелов мировые религии во многом скорее согласны, чем не

согласны.

О начале. Ангелы сотворены Господом, в этом нет никаких сомнений ни у одной из религий: «Господи Саваоф, Боже Израилев, на престоле, который над херувимами, Ты один Бог всех царств земли...» (Ис 37:16); Ему принадлежит всё что на небесах и на Земле, все покорны Ему» (Сура 2 «Корова» 116 аят);

В христианстве и иудаизме не упоминается, из чего созданы ангелы, по исламу же ангелы сотканы из стихии света: хадис говорит нам: «Ангелы сотворены из света, джинны созданы из чистого пламени, а Адам сотворен из того, что было описано вам» (глины, которую, кстати добывали ангелы из Мекки из Йемена);

О внешности. У ангелов нет физических тел, только духовные, и они прекрасны! Когда СвятойИоанн в одном из своих видений увидел ангела во всей славе, он поверил, что это был сам Бог, и поклонился ему (Откровение 22: 8). В Писаниях ясно дают понять, что у них есть крылья, и что они ослепительно светятся;

Они различимы по внешности, например, по количеству крыльев: «Хвала Аллаху, Творцу небес и земли, Сделавшему посланцами ангелов с двумя, тремя и четырьмя крыльями…» (Св. Коран 35:1); Эзекииль описывает херувимов из своего видения с разными лицами и крыльями (1:6-11);

Люди, за исключением пророков, в силу ограниченности своих органов чувств неспособны узреть истинный облик ангелов, такой вывод можно сделать исходя из того, что для общения с людьми ангелы «ради их же безопасности» (людей) всегда принимают человеческий облик;

Это интересно: вышеупомянутый факт наглядно проиллюстрировали в американском телесериале «Сверхъестественное». Женщина пытается с помощью ритуала призвать некое существо, не зная, что это ангел. Он велит ей прекратить, ибо «его лик нестерпим для человеческого взора», но она не унимается и пытается силой заставить его показаться ей. В результате её глаза… вспыхивают огнём. Она выживает, но остаётся слепой и глубоко травмированной увиденным.

Конечно, нигде в Писаниях не написано, что у человека при виде ангела сгорят глаза, это было лишь творческим решением сценаристов.

Так как ангелы бесплотны, у них нет и половых признаков. Любопытно, что,

являясь к людям, они всегда выбирают мужские оболочки: «И, войдя во гроб, увидели юношу, сидящего на правой стороне, облеченного в белую одежду; и ужаснулись» (Мк 16:5); Умар передаёт: «Однажды, когда мы сидели вместе с Посланником Аллаха, к нам вошёл мужчина в белоснежной манере и чёрными волосами. На нем не было следа за путешествием, и никто из нас не знал его». Пророк сказал: «Это был Джибриил (Гавриил), который пришёл обучать вас вашей религии». Ни разу в Писаниях ангелы не приходили как женщины;

О способностях. Ангелы очень могущественны. Они способны управлять стихиями (как ангелы природы в исламе), разрушать целые селения (как в случае с Содомом и Гаморрой), Они ощущают полную свободу перемещения в пространстве и времени; они сверхбыстрые: ангел переместил пророка Авука из Иудеи в Вавилон «со скоростью духа»; но они могут присутствовать в нескольких местах одновременно, однако всё это в рамках дозволенного Создателем;

Об интеллекте. Ангелы глубоко мудры, но и их знания ограничены, так как они всё

таки творения, они не могут знать всего, что знает Господь: «Он (Аллах) сказал: Воистину, Я знаю то, чего вы не знаете! (2:30) Напоимер, они не знают время второго пришествия Христа: «О дне же том и часе никто не знает, ни ангелы небесные, а Отец один» (Мат 24:36);

О чувствах. Ангелы способны испытывать чувства: они любят и ненавидят, радуются и печалятся, они молятся и заступаются за тех, кого любят, при этом ни разу не выходя за рамки, приписанные Богом. Например,, они радуются благим деяниям рабов Бога, радуются, когда кается грешник (Луки 15:10);

О жизненных потребностях. Ангелы не нуждаются в еде и воде для поддержания жизни: «Увидев, что они не дотрагиваются до еды, он усомнился в них и почувствовал страх перед ними. Посланцы сказали: “Не бойся! Поистине, мы посланы к народу Лута”» (сура 11 «Худ» аят 70); они не устают, не болеют, не слабеют, не спят (Св. Коран 21:19; 20); (Луки 20:36);

Об отношениях между собой. Ангелы общаются друг с другом (Зак 1; 11) на языке, который называется «просветление»;

Это интересно: в XVI веке оккультисты Джон Ди и Эдвард Келли составили или точнее «воссоздали» якобы утерянный язык ангелов – енохианский, названный так потому, что Енох был последним, кто говорил на нём. Он имел свой алфавит,

морфологические и синтаксические основы. Джон и Эдвард утверждали, будто ангелы сами передали им основы языка, чтобы общаться с «той стороной». В том же «Сверхъестественном» именно енохианский используется как родной язык ангелов.

Иисус учил, что в воскресении люди не женятся и не выходят замуж, но «подобны ангелам на небесах» (Мат 22:30), это говорит о том, что ангелы не женятся между собой. Это логично, считают мусульманские учёные, учитывая то, что у них нет разделения на мужчин и женщин;

О воле. А вот тут мы имеем дело с первым случаем, когда две религии категорически несогласны друг с другом. Из Библии мы знаем, что часть ангелов пала вместе с Люцифером. Логично предположить, что у ангелов всё таки есть воля и выбор, и если одни выбрали Господа и остались святыми, то другие отвернулись от него и стали бесами. Ислам же утверждает, что нет у ангелов ни воли, ни найма (страстей), это даровано лишь людям и джиннам, а ангелы абсолютно безгрешны, а потому они не будут судимы в Судный день, среди них нет падших. Как же тогда, спросите вы, ислам объяснит нам падение дьявола и существование зла? А это ещё один очень интересный вопрос, который мы обязательно раскроем, но чуть позже.

О конце. Ангелы не стареют и не умирают естественной смертью (Луки 20:36), их невозможно убить, исходя из того, что на войне, которую ведут святые ангелы против падших, один не может убить другого (Откровение 12:7);

Ислам учит, что в Судный день ангелов, как и всё живое на земле и Небесах, постигнет смерть: «Всё, что на земле, подвергнется умиранию, а вечен только Аллах – Обладатель величия и щедрости» (смысл 26-27 аятов суры «ар-Рахман», тафсир «аль-Мунтахаб»); и даже сам ангел смерти Азраил умрёт! Сначала Рафаил подует в свой Рог, и от этого звука умрёт всё сущее на земле и на небе, кроме четырёх архангелов. Аллах повелит Азраилу забрать и их жизни, и архангелы будут умолять Его облегчить их предсмертные муки. Азраил поочерёдно убьёт архангелов. Затем Аллах скажет единственному, кто остался в живых в целом свете, ангелу смерти: «Клянусь Своим Величием и Могуществом, я непременно заставлю тебя вкусить смерть, вкусить то, что ты заставлял вкушать Моих рабов. Иди, встань между Раем и Адом и умри». Тогда ангел смерти встанет между Раем и Адом, закричит таким великим криком, что, если бы в мире остался хоть кто-то из живых, он бы непременно умер от этого крика, и испустит дух.

1. 2. Чины и разновидности ангелов

Ангельская иерархия – пожалуй одна из самых захватывающих частей мира крылатых. Иерархия ангелов – это упорядоченное представление о положении ангелов от высшего к низшему. Многие века учители церкви изучали вопрос устройства «пирамиды» запутанного ангельского мира. Идеи, выдвигаемые одними, отвергались другими, и версии, повсеместно принятой за единственно верную, по сей день так и не образовалось. Первым в христианском богословии, кто создал подробную и продуманную классификацию ангелов, является неизвестный автор сборника богословских сочинений на греческом языке – Псевдо-Дионосий Ареопагиту, Небесная иерархия по Псевдо-Дионисию делится на три лика, каждый уровень, в свою очередь, делится ещё на три чина. Деление предположительнопроводится по двум принципам: степени приближённости к Богу и типу служения.

Это интересно: именно эту иерархию с незначительными изменениями использовал в своей «Божественной комедии» Данте.

Первый лик. Серафимы («огненные», «пылающие») – наивысшие из всех ангельских чинов и наиболее приближённые к Богу. Исайя описывает Серафимов как шестикрылых небесных существ с вечно пылающей любовью к Богу, из-за чего оно и получили такое название (6; 6:7). Окружая Его трон, они неустанно воздают Ему хвалу: «Свят, свят, свят, Господь Саваоф». Они закрывают крыльями свои лица чтобы защититься от интенсивного свечения, излучаемого Богом. Любовь к Господу горит в них так, что они сами излучают такой яркий огненный свет, что другие ангелы не могут разглядеть их лиц. Серафимы побуждают других к такой же пламенной любви к Богу. Херувимы («умы») – четырёхкрылые хранители всех небесных записей и божественных знаний. Они сияют «светом Богопознания и ниспосылают другим премудрости и просвещение». Престолы описываются как светящиеся колёса, покрытые множеством глаз, служащие правосудию Божьему. Восседая на них, Господь вершит Свой Суд.

Второй лик. Господства отвечают за защиту совести и истории, а также за распределение власти среди людей. Они наставляют земных лидеров мудрому управлению с помощью лучей света, которые посылают им за вдохновением. Силы – чудотворцы, одаривают достойных на Земле, чтобы те могли творить чудеса, исцелять болезни, предсказывать будущее. Власти укрощают силу дьявола, защищают от его влияния, помогают отгонять грешные мысли и бороться с искушениями.

Третий лик. Начала, получая приказы от высших чинов, доводят их до остальных иследят за процессом исполнения ангелами своих обязанностей. Они также отвечают за управлением вселенной, охраной стран, народов, племён. Архангел буквально переводится как «начальник ангелов». В Библии упоминается семь архангелов: Михаил («кто как Бог»), Гавриил («сила Божия»), Рафаил («исцеление Божие»), Уриил («свет Божий», Селафиил («молитва Богу»), Иеремиил («высота Божия»), Варахиил («благословение Божие»), у каждого из которых свои задачи.Архангела Михаила изображают воином, в доспехах, с мечом, часто попирающим ногами Люцифера. Михаил – известная и очень почитаемся в религиозном обществе фигура, ведь именно он, командуя святым воинством ангелов, победил Сатану и сверг его с неба. Главные задачи Михаила – защищать людей от губительно влияния бесов, природных бедствий,

отвечать на искренние молитвы о помощи. Архангел Гавриил – благовестник и просветитель – приходит к людям, чтобы открывать им божественные тайны. Именно он явился Деве Марие, чтобы сообщить о рождении Спасителя, а Елизавете – о рождении великого пророка, Иоанна. Архангел Рафаил – целитель, в книге Даниила он предстаёт как путешественник, исцеляющий людей от разных болезней и недугов, в том числе

душевных. Уриил – наставник заблудших, помогает растерянным и отчаявшимся найти путь и выбраться из мрака незнания. Селафиил помогает людям обрести в душе такую добродетель, как стремление молиться Богу. Иеремиил настраивает мысли, души, сердца людей на путь света, чтобы вознести их к Богу. Варахиил молится о спасении и сохранении всех праведников на земле. И наконец, Ангелы (ангелы-хранители) – последний и наиболее приближённый к людям ангельский чин. Они сопровождают человека с самого момента появления на свет, не оставляя его, охраняют его душу и тело, а после смерти, отводят его душу в мир иной.

В исламе есть иерархия ангелов начинается с архангелов – мукаррабун – сильнейших существ после Бога и наиболее приближенных к Нему. К архангелам относятся Джибриль (Гавриил), Микаил (Михаил), Исрафил (Рафаил) и Азраил. Иногда к ним присоединяют и Ису (Иисуса), что говорит о его (частично) ангельской природе.

Джибиль – главный посредник между Богом и избранниками и пророками. Он оберегал Адама, после изгнания, и помогал первым людям приспособиться к жизни на Земле, спасал Нуха (Ноя), обучал Юсуфа (Иосифа), Давида, являлся к Марьям (Марии) и Захарии с вестями, покровительствовал Иисусу, Мухаммаду, Мусе. Когда пророк Мухаммад был маленький, он вскрыл ему грудь, очистил его сердце и наполнил его мудростью и верой. Микаил приводит планеты в движение, управляет погодой и несёт ответственность за обеспечение творений Божьих пропитанием. Он одним из первых поклонился Адаму, помогал Джибрилю омыть сердце Мухаммада. Когда Микаил плачет из жалости к грешным верующим, из каждой его слезинки Аллах творит ангела по подобию самого Микаила, который впоследствие помогает ему (архангелу) в делах управления природой. Исрафил – тот, кто будет дуть в Рог в Судный день. Когда он подует в него в первый раз, всё живое на Земле и Небесах либо умрёт, либо потеряет сознание. На второй раз начнётся Воскрешение. Исрафил находится в ожидании приказа с тех пор как ему выдали Рог. Трижды в день он плачет над мучениями грешников в аду, склонившись дугой, и если бы Аллах не запрещал ему лить слёзы, то он затопил бы ими всю Землю. Маляк аль-маут или Азраил – ангел смерти, тот, кто собирает души умерших, тот, кто заберёт жизнь всего живого на Земле и Небе в Конец Света и убьёт самого себя. Азраил – единственный из четырёх архангелов, посланных на Землю, чтобы добыть глину для сотворения Адама, сплавился с задачей.

Ангелы-карубийун – ангелы, несущие Трон Господа. Они тоже из числа приближенных к Богу, следовательно, по своей иерархии выше других ангелов. Их восемь, и каждый из них наделён силой человека, ангела и шайтана, чтобы нести Арш (Трон).

Ридван – страж Рая и Малик – страж ада, который никогда не улыбается. Он возглавляет 19 ангелов-истопников, наказывающих грешников в аду.

Мункар и Накир, – суровые ангелы, которыеустраивают допрос, после смерти, в зависимости от результатов которого могила становится для человека либо блаженным местом, либо мукой.

Ангелы-хранители неотступно следуют за человеком. двое спереди и двое сзади, оберега его и отходя, когда этого повелит Господь, если с человеком суждено случиться несчастью. Есть ещё ангелы-писари, они сидят на плечах у человека и записывают все его деяния – один, что справа – хорошие, другой, что слева – плохие.

Есть помощники Микаила – ангел гор, ангел грома, ангел растений и животных, ангел почвы и т.д. и помощники Азраила – жнецы. В исламе названы множество других безымянных ангелов: ангелы-распределители Божьих указаний, ангелы, следящие за порядком выполнения этих указаний, ангелы-воины, ангелы-путешественники, странствующие по дорогам в поисках молящихся праведников, чтобы ответить им, и другие.

1. 3. Вопрос свободы воли у ангелов. Падшие ангелы

Есть ли у ангелов воля? Библия даёт чёткий ответ – да, каждому ангелу была дарована свобода воли.

Вначале Адам и Ева были чисты и безгрешны. Они жили в райской обители, где им было дозволено всё, кроме одной единственной вещи – плод дерева посреди Элема. Адам и Ева по своей воле нарушили запрет, за что были наказаны – изгнаны из сада. Вот и ангелы начинали как безгрешные, но после одного знаменательного события разделились на два лагеря – святые и падшие. Ангелы, которых мы знаем и любим – это те, что избрали путь служения Богу. Те ангелы, что восстали вместе с Люцифером, пали с Неба, проиграв в войне против Михаила и его святого войска.

Люцифер, он же дьявол, он же Сатана, он же змей-искуситель, некогда светлейшее и чистейшее творение Божье, прекрасный, благородный херувим, которому дарована была огромная сила и власть над множеством ангелов, восстал против Бога и был низвергнут с Небес. Как же так вышло? Причина тому – гордыня: «От красоты своей ты [Люцифер] возгордился. От славы своей ты мудрость свою загубил» (Иез 28:17). Очевидно, Люцифер был настолько влюблён в себя, что потерял рассудок, решил, что достоин большего, чем служение при Боге, достоин стать Богом. Он захотел вознести себе престол на краю севера, взойти на высоты облачные и уподобиться Всевышнему. «За то Я [Бог] повергну тебя на землю... Я превращу тебя в пепел на земле перед глазами всех, видящих тебя». Тогда Люцифер поклялся делать жизнь детей Божьих на Земле несчастной, проклинать их и искушать, как он искусил Еву. Он убедил часть ангелов последовать за ним, и те тоже пали и стали демонами, по сей день служащими при нём и сеющими среди людей злобу, ненависть и раздор.

Согласно исламу же, ангелы были созданы непорочными и остаются таковыми по сей день, среди них нет грешных, потому что у них нет свободной воли. Тогда каким таким образом пал Сатана?! Всё до предела просто – а Сатана никогда и не был ангелом! Иблис, он же шайтан, был джинном, который благодаря своему усердию был удостоен чести находиться среди ангелов (он фактически почти дослужился до уровня ангела). Когда Аллах создал Адама, он повелел Своим ангелам пасть ниц перед ним. Иблис был среди них, поэтому приказ относился и к нему. Все присутствовавшие склонили свои головы, кроме Иблиса, которого одолевала зависть к созданию, которого Аллах возвысил и возвеличил. Он отказался поклониться Адаму, так как считал себя выше него: «Я лучше него. Ты сотворил меня из огня, а его – из глины» (Коран 7:12). Аллах ответил ему: «О Иблис! Что помешало тебе пасть ниц перед тем, кого Я сотворил Своими обеими Руками? Ты возгордился или же принадлежишь к числу превозносящихся?» Горделивый Иблис так и не покаялся в своём грехе, он был откровенно настроен на вражду с Адамом и его потомством и за это был проклят, унижен и изгнан. Иблис высказал Богу последнюю просьбу – дать ему отсрочку до дня Воскрешения, а до того дня он будет сбивать людей с пути к довольству Господа, чтобы поволочь за собою в ад, и лишь те, кто воспротивятся ему и останутся верными Богу, спасутся от пламени ада и войдут в Рай. Аллах согласился: «Ступай! И если кто последует за тобой, то Геенна будет для вас, полным воздаянием. Одурачивай своим голосом, кого сможешь, пусти в ход против них свою конницу и пехоту, дели с ними их богатства и детей и давай им обещания. Воистину, обещания сатаны – всего лишь обольщение. Воистину, ты не властен над Моими рабами. Довольно того, что твой Господь является их Попечителем и Хранителем». (16:63-65)

Таким образом, причина падения сатаны – гордыня – один из семи смертных грехов.

5. Особая связь между ангелом и человеком. Ангелы-хранители

Каждая душа, что приходит в этот мир, находится под опекой высших сил. Никто не одинок, за каждым из нас днём и ночью присматривают благородные духи из числа Небесного воинства: «Воистину, над вами есть хранители» (Св. Коран 82:11); «Ибо Ангелам Своим заповедает о тебе - охранять тебя на всех путях твоих. Они же, эти ангелы, по повелению Божию примут тебя, так сказать, на свои руки и будут поддерживать тебя, чтобы не споткнуться тебе ногою о камень» (Пс. 91:11-12).

Среди учителей церкви существуют некоторые разногласия по поводу того, когда

ангелы присоединяются к человеку. Одни считают, что при рождении, другие утверждают, что в момент крещения. Сегодня единое мнение большинства богословов таково: ангелы-хранители приставляются к человеку при рождении и становятся его вечным спутником жизни в обоих мирах. Для них не важны национальность, культура, вера человека или её отсутсвие, по милости Божьей, они охраняют всех: «Нет такой души, над которой не было бы хранителя» (Св. Коран 86:4).

Ангелы-хранители – защитники. Мир, в котором мы живём, полон опасностей.

Такое хрупкое и незащищённое существо, как человек, всюду поджидают беды, будь то пылинка, что может попасть в глаз, двигающихся на встречу автомобиль, плохие люди, животные или болезни. Ангелы защищают его от всего, что может причинить вред, пока этого хочет Господь. Если же Бог предопределил нанесение вреда человеку как часть испытания, то ничто не сможет это предотвратить, и ангелы на время отступят в сторону, но потом обязательно вернутся, чтобы помочь и утешить.

Ангелы-хранители – духовные наставники. Внутри каждого человека постоянно

ведётся борьба добра и зла. Демоны, подбираясь к нему, искушают, сбивают с пути и вводят в грех, а ангелы-хранители перетягивают его на сторону добра и света. Конечно, конечный выбор всегда стоит за человеком, ведь ему дарована свободная воля. Он может послушать своих ангелов или проигнорировать их. Ангелы не могут силой заставить его что-либо сделать, лишь подсказать ему, как правильно поступить в разных жизненных ситуациях. А если человек всё же поступит плохо, то ангелы не оставят его в покое, пока он не осознает свою вину и не покается. Быть может, тот внутренний голос, который мы называем совестью, и есть голос ангелов?

Ангелы-хранители – заступники. Люди увы несовершенны, как ангелы. Как бы они

ни старались быть хорошими, они часто ломаются, поддаются искушениям и предаются грехам. Ангелы-хранители заступаются за своего подопечного перед Богом, ежедневно молят Его о прощении для него о и спасении его от огня ада.

Ангелы-хранители – друзья. Верующие призывают никогда не думать, что вы одни в целом мире. Даже в самые мрачные времена ваши ангелы-хранители всегда рядом, они духовно «обнимут» вас, укроют своими крыльями, словно пледом, и утешат, и тогда к вам придет чувство облегчения, печаль пройдёт и в вашей душе поселятся лучи надежды.

Ангелы-хранители никогда не оставляют и не отворачиваются от своего человека по своей воле. Разве что он может сам прогнать их от себя, позволив злым духом взять над собой верх, например, солгав. Пророк Мухаммад передаёт, что, когда человек врёт, ангелы отходят от него на тысячу миль, из-за зловонного запаха, который исходит от него, когда из его уст вырывается ложь.

Вернуть своих ангелов можно посредством покаяния и возвращения к добрым делам. Ангелы радуются, когда люди находит время, чтобы помянуть Бога, совершают благие деяния, которые приводят к Спасению, когда кается грешник:«Сказываю вам, что так на небесах более радости будет об одном грешнике кающемся, нежели о девяноста девяти

праведниках, не имеющих нужды в покаянии» (Луки 15:10); ангелы особенно любят, когда люди хорошо относятся друг к другу: любят, поддерживают, помогают, уважают друг друга и заботятся друг о друге. Когда человек молится за ближнего своего, ангелы присоединяются к нему и за каждое сделанное за друга пожелание говорят: «Аминь. Пусть Бог даст тебе того же».

Ангелам-хранителям нельзя молиться; они отвергают молитвы, обращенные лично к ним. Только Бог достоин поклонения. Лучший способ извиниться, порадовать или поблагодарить своих ангелов – это порадовать Бога!

Ангелы-хранители близки с человеком, насколько только возможно. Они знают

биографию своего человека от и до, помнят каждое слово, когда-либо сказанное им, и действие, когда-либо им совершённое, они в курсе всех его сокровенных мыслей и желаний, страхов и сомнений. Ближе ангела-хранителя для человека только сам Бог.

Связь ангелов-хранителей с их подопечными крепка и вечна. Они и после смерти своего человека не оставляют его в одиночестве, а пребывают у его могилы, ожидая вместе с ним Судного дня.

Ангельское вмешательство в нашу жизнь.. Ангелы-хранители не склонны вторгаться в жизнь человека без его разрешения, так как уважают его право на свободу выбора. Но когда он попадает под риск опасности раньше своего срока, ангелы начинают посылать ему сигналы: интуитивные ощущения, сны, странные поведение животных, внезапно падающий предмет, препятствия, возникающие буквально на ровном месте, – чтобы помочь ему принять жизненно важное решение, а в критические ситуации, когда уже нет времени думать и что-либо предпринимать – например, когда ребёнок стоит посреди шоссе, парализованный от страха, а навстречу на бешеной скорости мчится огромный грузовик – ангелы-хранители просто берут дело в свои сильные руки. И тогда вдруг откуда ни возьмись на дороге появляется человек, уводит напуганное дитя в безопасную зону, а сам быстро исчезает в толпе.

      Иногда в нашей жизни случаются необъяснимые вещи. Бывает так, что, собираясь часы напролёт, мы в последний момент безо всякой на то причины отменяем планы и не идём на мероприятие, где позже происходит вооружённое ограбление, теряем паспорт прямо перед выездом в аэропорт, опаздываем на рейс, а позже узнаём из новостей, что наш самолёт попал в авиакатастрофу, резкий порыв ветра заставляет отпрянуть нас в сторону от места, куда секунду спустя падает обломок строительного материала… И мы сидим в изумлении, гадая, каким таким образом нам удалось уйти от, казалось бы, неизбежной катастрофы. Кто-то спишет всё на фортуну, кто-то поблагодарит свою сильную интуицию, а кто-то назовёт это чудом. Быть может, это и правда чудо? Чудеса, который творят наши ангелы-хранители, оберегая нас, как было велено Свыше? 

История из реальной жизни.

     В местной газете города Рочдейл (город к северо-востоку от Манчестера) сообщалось о женщине, подвергшейся нападению в узком тёмном переулке прошлым вечером.

     В другой вечер примерно в то же время молодая девушка шла домой после колледжа. Осознавая, как быстро темнеет, она хотела вернуться домой как можно скорее, чтобы её мама не беспокоилась о её безопасности. Девушка столкнулась с дилеммой: срезать путь через опасный переулок и попасть домой до наставления темноты или пойти по более длинному, но безопасному маршруту и заставить мать волноваться.

Она выбирает пойти по короткому пути. Пока она идёт, она видит довольно зловещую тёмную фигуру мужчины, идущего к ней с противоположной стороны аллеи. Девушка от страха ускоряет шаг и начинает читать молитву. Мужчина смотрит на неё, но продолжает идти.

По возвращении домой девушка рассказывает об этом зловещем на вид мужчине

своей семье, и они советуют ей обратиться в полицию, поскольку недавно читали статью

про случай в том же переулке. Девушка так и делает. В полиции её просят дать физическое описание мужчины. Оно совпадает с описанием, которое дала жертва насилия.

Через несколько дней девушке звонят из полиции и просят приехать в участок, чтобы опознать того мужчину среди нескольких задержанных. И жертва нападения, и молодая студентка выбирают одного и того же человека. Полиция в замешательстве; они спрашивают насильника, почему он напал на одну девушку и прошёл мимо другой. Указывая на студентку, подозреваемый отвечает: «А почему я должен был нападать на неё, когда она шла с двумя огромными мужчинами по сторонам?»

_ВЫВОД

     В ходе реализации исследовательской работы были сделаны следующие выводы:

     Вера в вестников Божьих закреплена во всех трёх авраамических религиях. Из священных книг христиан и мусульман можно получить ясное представление о них: ангелы – прекрасные, чистые, праведные духи, служащие добру. Они были сотворены задолго до появления человечества. Они обитают в невидимом для нас пространстве, выполняя массу различных поручений Бога, от самых мелких и незначительных до великих, исторически знаковых. Основными из их многочисленных функций являются прославление Создателя и забота о его горячо любимых Им творениях – людях. 

     В иудаизме случай с ангелами крайне сложный. Еврейская ангелология, претерпев за свою долгую и запутанную историю множество изменений и нововведений, всевозможных трактовок текстов, споров и спекуляций, к нашему времени так и не была "приведена в порядок" и принята синагогой. Сегодня ангелы не занимают значимого места в еврейском учении, современные евреи в ангелов не верят. 

     Ангелы - эфирные существа, наделённые прекрасным ликом, непостижимым для человеческого взора, сверхъестественными способностями, глубоким познанием, чувствами и эмоциями. Однако их чувства не влияют на них так же сильно, как на людей, они не могут поколебать в них главного  – верности Богу. 

     Мир ангелов устроен так, что у каждого ангела есть свой особый статус в зависимости от его места в ангельской иерархии. Выше всех в этой иерархии располагаются ангелы, наиболее приближённые к Богу, ниже – ангелы, чья работа полностью охватывает земной мир. В Писании, в частности в Коране, встречаются многие другие виды ангелов без упоминания их отношения к иерархии, такие как: ангелы-писари, ангелы-грозы, ангелы-стражники и т.д.

     Библейские ангелы наделены свободой воли, ангелы по Корану же исполняют строго то, что им приказано. Люцифер в христианстве – бывший ангел, который однажды восстал против Бога, за что был изгнан с Небес вместе с частью ангелов, которых он перетянул на свою сторону. В исламе нет таких понятий как «падший ангел» или «небесная война», все ангелы были и остаются безупречны, а Сатана считается падшим джинном. В обоих случаях, однако, дьявол пал из-за своей непомерной гордыни.

     У каждого человека есть ангелы-хранители – сильные покровители, которые ведут его по жизненному пути, защищая его душу и тело от любого проявления зла, вдохновляя его на добродетели и молясь за него днём и ночью, чтобы однажды привести его бессмертную душу к Спасению. Хранители – самые близкие друзья человека. Им ведомо все его мысли, слова и деяния, то, что спрятано в задворках сознания и то, что зарыто глубоко в душе. Связь ангелов-хранителей с их человеком не разрушит даже смерть – они проводят с подопечным всю его земную жизнь и остаются с ним и в загробном мире.

       Чтобы предупредить человека о чём-то важном и помочь ему устроить вещи наилучшим для него образом, ангелы используют тонкие подсказки, поэтому важно прислушиваться к своему внутреннему голосу, внимательно смотреть на мир вокруг себя, замечать детали, чтобы не пропустить эти подсказки. Иногда всё же возникает необходимость в прямом вмешательстве ангелов в ход событий – так возникают удивительные случаи спасения людей, которые можно назвать не иначе, чем чудом. 

      Таким образом, все поставленные задачи были решены, цель, а именно, изучить ангелов как отдельных существ, представляющих духовный мир, была достигнута, гипотеза подтверждена.
